Autumn in Metro Denver is filled with Great Events for the Family and Adults

Denver’s fall months are filled with some of the Mile High City’s greatest and most fun events for the entire family and adults as well, including one of the biggest beer festivals in the country and an amazing week of arts.

The Great American Beer Festival will be held September 20-22 at the Colorado Convention Center. This is the nation’s premier beer festival and competition, with brewers from hundreds of breweries across the country pouring samples of thousands of beers.

The Handmade in Colorado Expo showcases arts, crafts, food and music, all produced in Colorado by local artisans. This special event is scheduled for September 21-23 at the 16th Street Mall and Arapahoe Street in Denver. If you and your kids love the local, then this is a perfect event for you.

Denver’s Oktoberfest commemorates German heritage over two weekends each fall. You can enjoy German attractions, including music from national touring groups, performances by international dancers, children’s activities, heritage booths selling German goods, an accordion concert, the annual Long Dog Derby, and, of course, German beer and cuisine.

The Four Mile Historic Park’s Pumpkin Harvest Festival includes crafting your own scarecrow and listening and dancing to old-time music. Scheduled for October 6-7, your children can find the perfect pumpkin, go for a ride in a horse-drawn wagon, and adults can down a pint of beer in the beer garden.

Maker Faire Denver is billed as The Greatest Show & Tell on Earth. Maker Faire is a venue for makers to showcase their art, experiments, hobbies, crafts, and projects through presentation, hands-on activities and competitions, and more. Held October 13-14 at the National Western Complex, this family-friendly event is the first of its kind in the Rockies and will feature everything from wearable tech and a musical petting zoo, to the largest BattleBots competition in the western U.S. This is truly a fun event for everyone.

The Denver Film Festival, scheduled for October 31 through November 11, is held at various events around Denver, including the Sie FilmCenter and UA Pavilions. Since 1978, the Denver Film Society has worked to promote the medium as both an art form and a civic forum, developing a program that includes year-round screenings, community outreach projects, and renowned special events. The festival brings over 200 guest filmmakers and sells over 55,000 tickets to more than 250 films, from blockbusters and documentaries, to shorts and independent films.
